Jennifer Lopez And Puff Daddy

When the celebrity gossip columns reported that Jennifer Lopez was dating rapper record producer Sean Combs (then known as Puff Daddy), the headlines went wild.

Here was a top female star, already known for her strength of character, and she had fallen for a self-confessed ‘bad boy’ (some would say this was not the first time…).

The cynics said the relationship would all end in tears, but they had a fairly long wait, as Jennifer Lopez and Sean Combs were an item for two and a half years.

The celebrity gossip columnists followed J.Lo and Sean Combs with great interest, just waiting for something to catch the couple out and at last it did….

When Comb’s limo was stopped by the cops after a shooting incident at a club he and Jennifer had just left, they found a gun on the front seat. Both Combs and Jennifer were arrested for possession of an unlicensed weapon.

J.Lo was later released and not charged, as it was determined that she had been in the back seat of the limo and had no immediate access to the gun.

But Puff was charged and the case dragged on and on, to the delight of the media who made many speculations on the outcome – all tragic of course.

The constant media attention put what appeared to be a very strong relationship between Jennifer Lopez and Sean Combs under great strain and they eventually split up, to more media coverage of course.

Sean Combs was acquitted of all charges on the gun possession in 2001, but offshoots from the case dragged on for years. Jennifer was served with a subpoena to give evidence in a claim from the case occurring as late as August 2008, but was not called as it was decided she ‘had nothing to add to the case’.

Jennifer Lopez is a high profile female celebrity. Wherever she goes and whatever she does, she is under constant attention. In her relationship with Sean Combs, the attention simply became to much.
